About the Artist
Chris Nelson, an American artist, was born and raised in the
outdoor environment of Colorado. Four years after receiving his BFA in
sculpture from Colorado State University, he moved to Massachusetts and
began creating site-specific installations.
Nelson has exhibited widely, throughout central Massachusetts, the
United States, and in Japan. He has
received several awards including a grant from the Massachusetts
Cultural
Council and two full fellowships to the Vermont Studio Center. Nelson
has also worked as an educator, gallery director, and curator.
